WHAT TO DO?
The Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park is located in the westernmost part of the Sierra Morena mountain range and in the north of the province of Huelva. It is characterized by its extensive forests, high rainfall, mild climate, and valuable natural and cultural heritage.
The pastures that predominate in this mountain environment have favored the breeding of the Iberian pig , around which an industry has been built that is one of the pillars of the economy of its villages. You should not leave the place without trying its exquisite sausages and, of course, its ham with Jabugo Designation of Origin.
The landscape changes depending on altitude and humidity. The holm oak woodlands are replaced by cork oaks in some areas, while at higher altitudes, Pyrenean oak forests are common, and along riverbeds like the Múrtigas, gallery forests abound with large trees such as poplars, ash, willows, and alders, along with brambles and climbing plants.
This diverse forest provides an interesting array of wildlife. Within the park, it's possible to observe mammals such as the Egyptian mongoose, the genet, and the elusive otter. The birdlife is also varied; soaring through the skies of this natural environment, one can see, among others, vultures, kites, and black storks.

Nature in its purest form
Our environment is el Parque Natural de la Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, a true paradise for lovers of nature and gastronomy. Dreamy trails, paths shaded by huge cork oaks and chestnut trees, magnificent views and a wide variety of mushrooms and chestnuts within easy reach.
Art and culture
The Peña de Arias Montano, the Cave of Wonders in Aracena, the Hermitage of Almonaster la Real, el castillo de Cortegana are some of the well-preserved monumental attractions that can be visited in the region, but it is worth noting that each town offers a delicious walk through its cobbled streets, getting lost in them is the best way to find the essence of the culture of Sierra Morena

Scenery
It is no coincidence that many painters have come to these lands and have not been able to resist the temptation of trying to capture them on canvas. There are innumerable hills and ports that offer an exceptional viewpoint to the four winds.

Popular Festivals
They say that in the Sierra we are always partying, but it is not true, in reality the celebrations last from January with the living nativity scenes and parades, until December with the mycological, ham and craft fairs of Aracena. Between both, all the towns celebrate pilgrimages and popular festivals, among which the Virgen de los Ángeles in Alajar or the medieval days of Cortegana stand out.

Sport
Hiking and mountain biking are possibly the sports that make the Sierra de Aracena famous, there are endless trails to enjoy at your own pace.
But competitive sport has important tests at the national level such as Huelva Extreme (BTT Ultramarathon) or Santa Ana la Real Nordic Walking and professional Triathlon training camps are held in Aracena._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
